When you drive the G-Class, you instantly delegate a number of key tasks. You will have a host of electronic aids at your disposal that can be activated in critical situations. If the system identifies a danger of skidding, for example, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) kicks in. It restricts engine torque, applies braking to one or more wheels and stabilises the vehicle.
In the event of emergency braking, Brake Assist (BAS) delivers the necessary brake pressure. At the same time, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) developed and modified especially for the G-Class, and the 4ETS Electronic Traction System for all-wheel-drive vehicles help you to stay in control of your G-Class in challenging situations.
Should an accident still occur, occupants are protected by driver/front-passenger airbags and windowbags (in the long-wheelbase version). Crash-responsive NECK-PRO luxury head restraints are available as an optional extra for the front seats. They can significantly reduce the risk of whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end collision.
