August 29, 2011 – Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Limited is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of Mercedes-Benz Excellence Center at G/F, Hopewell Center, 183 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Mercedes-Benz Excellence Center provides retail services for both Maybach and Mercedes-AMG. Dr. Claus Weidner, Chief Operating Officer of Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Limited, alongside with Mr. Michael Lee, Chief Executive of Zung Fu Company Limited kicked off the opening ceremony with a traditional Chinese ceremony including lion dance. To celebrate this grand opening, the new Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupé made its first debut in Hong Kong.
In an area of 600 square meters, Mercedes-Benz Excellence Center houses the high-performance Mercedes-AMG as well as the brand name that stands for ultimate luxury - Maybach. Different color tone was implemented to cater for the two different brands – Mercedes-AMG and Maybach. The new C 63 AMG Coupé, CLS 63 AMG, SLS AMG Racing Edition and Maybach 62S were displayed. Mercedes-Benz Excellence Center in Hong Kong is the first location in the world who implemented the new AMG Passenger Car showroom standard. The new AMG Passenger Car showroom standard includes the usage of segmented wall panels with integrated all showroom elements on the wall panels (including brochures, accessories display and TV into wall panels unit.) Usage of textile graphic panels (4m x 2m) and graphic line on the wall create a special atmosphere.

With eight airbags as standard, belt tensioners and belt-force limiters for all seats, the C 63 AMG Coupé has extensive safety features. All airbags can deploy in milliseconds in the event of an accident, include front airbags for the driver and front passenger, front and rear sidebags, windowbags for the driver, front passenger and rear passengers. The side protection system – comprising headbag and sidebag – optimises the level of protection afforded to individual parts of the body.
With numerous driving assistance systems ranging from ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection to DISTRONIC proximity control, the C 63 AMG Coupé provides a comprehensive level of driver support and protection. The assistance systems are based on the latest camera and sensor technology. They cover frequent accident causes such as driving too closely, fatigue and darkness.
