April 11, 2011 – Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Limited proudly announced its best quarterly retail results for the first three months ended March 31, 2011, which is the best quarter ever. A total of 1,323* units of passenger cars were delivered in Hong Kong and Macau in the first three months of the year, an increase of 42.6% compared to the same period last year.
The E-Class, B-Class, C-Class continued its strong sales performance in the first quarter period. The number of the new E-Class (including Saloon, Estate, Coupe, Cabriolet) delivered in the first quarter were 490 units. The E-Class Coupe is one of the models which posted a significant growth with a total of 118 units delivered during the three-month period, a rise of 37.2% compared with the same period a year ago.
The B-Class delivered in the first three months totaled 304 units, marking a significant jump of 641.5% year on year. Sales of its C-Class also soared 79.8% year on year to 232 units, reinforcing its popularity among customers in the market. Sales of the R-Class were robust in the first quarter of 2011, up 233.3% year on year to 70 units.
