September 6, 2011 – Following successful pilot programs in several cities around the world, the new smart electric drive now takes to the roads in Hong Kong. Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Limited today announced a pilot program for the smart electric drive, Hong Kong’s first European electric car for daily use.
The new pilot program will last for four years, during which selected Hong Kong partners will take the smart electric drive to the roads for trial, starting today. The free trial is intended to bring Hong Kong drivers closer to understanding the benefits and features of electric vehicles.
Partners in phase one of the pilot program include a mixture of utilities, corporations and a non-government organization, who will experience the smart electric drive for six months to a year.
