There is an economical solution to ensure Euro 5 compliance: BlueTec®. Mercedes-Benz has already made an early decision in favour of the future-proof solution of BlueTec® which is based on SCR (selective catalytic reduction) diesel technology and on higher-efficiency engines which are thus more economical. Thanks to SCR diesel technology, Mercedes-Benz satisfies Euro emissions standards and reduces exhaust emissions and fuel consumption. The initial investment pays off more quickly than you might expect.

There’s more: for anyone who feels that Euro 5 is not environmentally friendly enough, from February 2010 the 160 kW Atego offers the option of meeting the strict EEV (Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicle) emissions standard which ensures less exhaust gas and particulate emissions. From April 2010 Atego vehicles will also be available in the engine variants of 130 kW, 175 kW, 188 kW and 210 kW, each from 12 tonnes, which also meet the EEV emissions standard.
