Dynamic driving profile.

Dynamic driving profile.

The WLTP illustrates a more ample and dynamic driving profile with consumption and emission values that are closer to real driving conditions than the previously known values established as per NEDC. Vehicles' real consumption does not change. However, as a result of the stricter test cycle the majority of measured consumption values are higher.
Nowadays NEDC is considered outdated even though it also guarantees that values are comparable across manufacturers. Differences between laboratory and on-road measurements remain as a result of the measurement principle. However, the WLTP takes into account far more factors that influence consumption.
One reason for the increase is also that in future optional extras are taken into account in the CO₂ values of
vehicles. The difference in increase of the numeric CO₂ values between NEDC and WLTP may differ in individual vehicles depending on technology and equipment.
